Stanley Cup Playoffs, Night 32
I'm sure keeping this blog rather busy this week. So many posts, so little time. And while I was off dealing with television-related matters, an atrocity was visited upon the Ducks on the ice of Anaheim. Read about it below if you dare.
Red Wings 5, Ducks 0
Red Wings lead series 2-1
Yeah, you read that score right. At first I wasn't sure. But it is true. The first goal of Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals was scored by Johan Franzen halfway through the first period for the Red Wings. Tomas Holmstrom followed up on the power play with just 43 seconds to go before the intermission. A score of 2-0 after one. Just 3:17 into the second period, Detroit continued the rampage with a Todd Bertuzzi goal. Only 17 seconds later, Holmstrom notced another one. Now it's 4-0 after two. What the hell happened to the Ducks? Valtteri Filpulla capped it off with a fifth goal midway through the third. And that was that with that. I have nothing more to say on the subject and look forward to an ass-kicking to be delivered unto the Wings in Game 4. Is it too much to hope? Versus had coverage I was unable to watch.
