Stanley Cup Playoffs, Night 29

The Sabres are now in a pretty bad position having lost both home games to open this series. And for the Sens, it's the first time in their history that they've taken a 2-0 lead in a playoff series.

Senators 4, Sabres 3, 2OT
Senators lead series 2-0
Things were looking up for Buffalo and the Sabres fans in the building. They had a 2-0 lead just six minutes into the game. It's in the bag right? No. Daniel Alfredsson and Mike Fisher see to it that the game is tied at 2 just six minutes into the second period. Then with 16 seconds to play in the second, Wade Redden delivers a pretty nasty blow in the form of a 5-on-3 power play goal for Ottawa. Going into period three, the Seneators were up 3-2. But just like his co-captain did exactly eight days ago, Daniel Briere played the part of Mr. Clutch, tying the game with just 5.8 seconds to go in regulation. It took an extra 25 minutes to decide the game, but in the end, Joe Corvo turned a Sens faceoff win into a brilliant goal from the point. And the Sabres go down 2-0 in the series with disappointed fans heading home. The series now shifts to Canada. Versus had coverage of the game tonight.
