I Need To Get Back To Writing

Seriously. A lot has been going on lately. Perrin and Sarich have disappeared. Kariya and Hamrlik and Smyth and Gomez and the Buffalo co-captains all have new teams. And god only knows who else! It's just crazy. And the Lightning signed Michel Ouellet. I want to write about all of these things if for no other reason than that I'm writing again. The Tournament is going great, though I don't feel enough people are checking it out, but too many interesting things are going on to just ignore them.

So this week, pinky swear. I'll have my commentary. You aren't required to read it. I wouldn't force that on anybody. But it'll be here. Right now, I'm very tired. This is a late hour for someone who's up at 2 AM. Gotta be to work at 4. TV shows don't produce themselves you know. If you happen to live in southwest Florida, check out FOX 4 Rising tomorrow morning. I'll be the guy running the audio board.

Until we meet again.

More Posts Coming... Plus The Tournament!

Naturally, when I started this blog I meant to be writing every day or so. But that was at the height of the television and hockey seasons. Still, by no means do I intend to stop. But I just bought a new toy. As shown below.

So I have Nintendo DS now and a couple of Mario games I can't seem to stop playing.

Still, I do plan to have more posts in the coming weeks. About lots of stuff... mostly hockey and television-related, of course. In the meantime, don't forget about the start of the NHL Tournament of Logos! It began on Tuesday and there are new matches posted every single day. Head on over and keep up with your favorite team and/or logo.

Chip Eats His Birthday Cake

Chip Eating Birthday Cake from Chris on Vimeo

Read this post and you'll understand.

Chip Turns 1

Our dog's birthday was today. He's now a year old. And yes, if you do the math, you'll realize he was indeed born on 06/06/06. I call him our devil dog. But it's cool because yesterday was my birthday — that's why I didn't post anything. Too busy celebrating — er, sleeping.

Anyway, to celebrate Chip's birthday we got him a cake from a local pet bakery — yes, there is such a thing. It was apple and cheddar cheese flavored. He loved it, of course. And if you're at all interested in seeing more pictures from his little party, you can check them out at Flickr.

Got A New Toy

We got a new digital camera today so naturally I just started taking millions of pictures. This was one of them. The dog's name is Chip. He's a rat terrier and we've had him for about two months now. His first birthday is June 6.

Happy Birthday, Meg!

Just wanted to say that in case she read the blog today. Hope you have a good one, babe!

That and Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. And to all the offspring out there, what did you get your mom to celebrate her bringing you into the world? I got mine a pink iPod Shuffle, so how 'bout dat!

Enough gloating now. You can go back to whatever you were doing.

Just one more day until the upfronts! Woo-hoo!

My Big Announcement!

Okay, so I know I promised the announcement on Tuesday, but as far as I'm concerned, this sort of is still Tuesday. Plus I wanted to make you sweat it a little since I know you're dying to know the secret. Prepare for a letdown.

Basically, what I'm announcing is a new blog. But it's not just any kind of blog. It's a blog that will determine definitively which NHL team has the best logo. The best! It will be a marathon tournament that will pit logo against logo with the lone goal of deciding who is champion.

It's called the NHL Tournament of Logos!

Come on, you know you're thrilled. This tournament is really nothing more than a way of getting us hockey fans throught the lean time of the offseason. I guess you could say this isn't really hockey as there are no players or pucks involved, but you can still root for your team.

To learn more of what this tournament is all about, head on over to nhllogos.blogspot.com.

Hope it wasn't too much of a disappointment for you. I know I put a lot of hype into it. Let me know what you think. But don't be too harsh.

I'm Hired!

Okay, just a few quick notes before the night's out (it's actually probably closer to morning at this point). I have a new job as of tomorrow which means I'll no longer be able to watch games every single night. That makes me sad, but getting money outweighs that sadness. I'll still write every day. I'll still cover the playoffs. The game recaps will probably come a little after the fact instead of during games. But the job is part time so I'll have three nights off every week and that means this isn't totally over.

Also, tomorrow night's games are the last of the Game 4s in this round so you can expect a prediction update Thursday afternoon at some point. Probably just something brief on how things are going in the series with regard to my predictions. Here's a little preview: So far, so good.

As for other hockey content aside from the nightly recaps, the Times published an interesting article about the Lightning's season. I'm going to look up some stuff and post it here (probably tomorrow). I was intrigued. Also, a lot of bloggers have been talking about who's staying and who's going for the Bolts. I'll put up a summary of what I've read on that as well.

And lastly, for you TV people, I hope you're enjoying the pilot write-ups. As I've mentioned, I'll get to the comedies next week. The upfronts are coming up very soon. Less than two weeks now! I'm on pins and needles. You know you are too. That reminds me, the weekend before the upfronts I'm going to post my revisions to the schedules I predicted. Knowing what I know now. Things I've heard and read. I kind of what to change my mind a little bit. But after the new schedules do come out, I'll compare both predicitions. If that makes any sense to anyone.

All right then. Now if you get a chance, stop by FOX 4.

Something Fun: The Sequel

Lego Crashing: Overtime on Vimeo
This is the sequel to the first Lego Crashing video. I suggest you watch them in order. Not that they'll make any more sense... but you know what I mean.

Something Fun

Lego Crashing on Vimeo
I made a silly video the other day. You might get a laugh out of it. Leave a comment to let me know what you think.

Want To Laugh?

I know it's been all hockey all the time here lately, so let's take a quick break.

If you can watch this video and not wither into hysterics, then you probably do not have a soul. To tell you what it's about would spoil the surprise, so I'll just suffice to say that it's a short titled "The Landlord" and features Will Ferrell.

That's all you need to know. Now go and watch!
